A passion for chocolate
The Choco-Story museum came about as a private initiative of the Van Belle family who are passionate about chocolate and who opened their first Choco-Story museum in Bruges in Belgium in 2004.
A second museum was opened in Prague in the Czech Republic in 2008 and followed quite naturally by the opening of the gourmet chocolate museum in Paris in 2010.
Our aim is to inform and share our knowledge of this wonderful food of the gods that we call cocoa.
To this end, our museum curator, Mr Eddy Van Belle, regularly acquires many different objects to fill our museums. He travels the world over searching for new information and hunting out secrets about chocolate.
All the items that he collects are put on display in our museums either as part of our collection of objects, photographs and videos, or in temporary exhibitions that we change twice a year. We also regularly publish books and you can buy these from our museum shops.
In addition, we like to share our collections by lending numerous objects to other museums and national exhibitions. We consider that sharing our passion is a moral obligation and in this way our knowledge and experience is available for everyone.
We really hope that you will enjoy visiting our museums as much as we enjoy putting our collections together.
